The Children’s Society is a leading national charity committed to helping vulnerable and disadvantaged young people, including children in care and young runaways. They give a voice to disabled children, help young refugees to rebuild their lives and provide relief for young carers. Through their campaigns and research, they seek to influence policy and perceptions at all levels so that young people have a better chance in life.

The following statements give an idea of how your donation could help to make a change to a young person’s life:

a week could support a child who might otherwise fall outside of the education system and give them the skills they need to fulfil their potential through a peermentoring programme.

Could pay for an hour’s support out in the community for a disabled young person.

Could buy materials for activities for young people at risk of running away (such as art materials, games, disposable cameras and DVDs) to help them address the issues in their lives.

Could pay for a programme worker to spend three hours supporting a young person seeking asylum to access education, health care or to take part in a supportive youth activity.

Could pay for four mediation sessions between a child and their parents to stop the arguments that are making life at home unbearable.
