Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In November I will be part of a 20 strong team of GMP officers and staff going to Ethiopia in support of a local charity RETRAK.
The charity works with street children in several African countries. They reach out to vulnerable children to provide them with food, clothing, healthcare and education, addressing the reasons why children go on the street, through income generation, family reunification and a foster care scheme. More than three-quarters of the children they deal with stay off the streets for good. More details are available on www.retrak.org
Our trip will be to renovate a new drop-in centre in Addis Ababa but we will also be involved counselling, artistic and sporting activities etc.
We need to raise up to £40k between us for the trip and the renovation work and for my part I am running the London Marathon in April to raise funds and also the Great Ethiopia Run whilst I am out there.
