Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I would say that I have been extremely blessed in my life with wonderful family, great friends and good health - key ingredients, I suppose for a happy life. When I was asked if I wanted to take part in climbing Kilimanjaro to raise funds for Lung cancer research via Velindre Hospital, I jumped at the opportunity, to take part in this extreme challenge to climb the highest free standing volcano in the world, at 19,340 feet, where at the top, the oxygen is so thin that it will be like climbing with only one lung. This challenge of course, is nothing compared to the personal challenge of fighting this disease, which is the main reason for doing this - to help make a difference in the lives of those who suffer with this terminal condition.
The aim of the Captains Climb (supported by 15 ex-Welsh rugby captains) is to raise £1,000,000 for research into this dreadful disease, to help convert it from a terminal condition into a treatable one. My target is to raise £20,000 between now and September. I, along with all those in the future who will benefit from this research, would be grateful for any donation you would kindly make. All of the money from your donation will go to fund research.
