Story
I've finally got round to doing it. I was born with a runners body but after 15 years of abusing it with alcohol & family sized bags of crisps, this isn't going to be easy. Ive been basically training for this since November but have only just decided to sign up.
When it came to choosing a charity I have so many that I could have ran for Breast Cancer, Help for Heroes, Justice for the 96, Aids to name a few but I've decided to run for Pancreatic Cancer.
I'm about get serious now but please stay with me ( try to imagine Coldplay's Fix You playing as you read }
Pancreatic Cancer has the lowest survival rate of any Cancer. It has a 3% chance of survival, thats even less chance than QPR. 3% just 3%, that, as a bookmakers son is something I can't live with. Would you bet your life or anyone you know on a 33/1 shot.This is due to lack of research, which is down to lack of funding. So ANY amount you donate WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE. When I was younger, any Cancer had pretty much no chance of survival. Most Cancers are now treatable and certainly have a higher rate of survival.
In a world where we can do anything on our phones and send bits of metal out of our galaxy, I find it ludicrous that if anyone got this, they would almost certainly die.
Please donate as much or as little as you can. Any amount WILL make a difference.
