BUPA Great North Run 2010 · 19 September 2010 ·

We support the growing number of people in and around Milton Keynes affected by a life-limiting illness. We give our patients and their loved ones specialist, personalised care - free of charge. Only 13.8% of our costs are met by ongoing NHS funding, so we’re dependent on your support. Thank you.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, and for hopefully making a donation.

On the 19th September this year I will be running the Great North Run in aid of Willen Hospice. This is a charity that has been very close to my heart since my mum passed away there 11 years ago. Being a local lad, I also know lots of other people that have benefited from the tireless work and care that all the staff provide to both the sufferer and their families.

Willen Hospice provides specialist care to adults in Milton Keynes, and the surrounding areas, who have life limiting illnesses. Willen Hospice ended the financial year with a shortfall of more than £400,000 in its budget. The Hospice is desperate that this situation is not to be repeated this finncial year, as it does not want to compromise the quality of care that it is known and loved for. They only get a quarter of their funding from the NHS and need to raise over £2.7 million a year to provide their specialist services.

Please support me and the hospice, and in the words of a famous supermarket ' Every little helps'.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. Thanks for your support
