Traded in beer for trainers for the next 3 months!

The Event

On Sunday 15th April 2012 I will be 1 of 50 EDF employee's taking part in the Paris Marathon to raise money for Paralympics GB. My target fundraising is £1000 and every penny raised will be matched by EDF making the effort even more worthwhile.

Along with the other 49 EDF employees we will be supporting the EDF ambition of running 2012km in 2012.

Me

As an EDF Employee at Heysham 2 Power Station I feel priveliged to be given the opportunity to raise money for such a great cause! I have raised money for charity before and find it very rewarding to see how the money is put to good use.

With the Olympic Games just around the corner it is a great time to support our Paralympic atheletes.

My sister Amy is registered disabled and as a family we have been supported throughout her life by many charities that aim to give her and others the opportunities that are readily available to most of us, including the opportunity to take part in sporting events.

It will be all these thoughts that are driving me on the day in Paris around the 26.2mile course so please support me in getting to my £1000 target by offering a donation.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Peter

The Charity

ParalympicsGB, is a registered charity which is responsible for selecting, preparing, entering, funding and managing Britain' s teams at the Paralympic Games and Paralympic Winter Games.

The Paralympic Games take place once every four years (with a Winter Games two years after each summer edition of the Games) in the same city and year as the Olympic Games. They are an elite multi-sport event for athletes with a disability and are a direct "parallel" to the Olympic Games - hence the name.
