London to Paris Cycle Ride · 14 August 2013
My name is Pete Robinson, and I have recently agreed to cycle from London to Paris in aid of the James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer.
My fundraising target is a massive £1,400 and I need as much help as I can get to raise this amount for an extremely worthwhile cause. I’ve agreed to do the hard part (I have the saddle sores to prove it) I just need your help to get the funds in!
The James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer is a charity committed to raising awareness of kidney cancer amongst a range of audiences including the general public, GPs, clinicians, policy makers, health authorities and the media. The Fund was set up by broadcaster James Whale who lost a kidney to cancer in 2000.
Every year almost 9,000 people learn that they have kidney cancer in the UK, and nearly 4,000 people die from the disease. That’s one person diagnosed with kidney cancer every hour of every day of the year. And yet the condition – the eight most common cancer in the UK – rarely attracts much public attention. That’s why I would like to raise as much money as possible to donate to this really amazing cause.
Any donations, big or small would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
