We rescue homeless children from the street to give them a future filled with hope

Story

I first ran the Birmingham Half-Marathon 2 years ago, achieving a time of 2 hours 3 minutes. I was injured last year so I was all the more keen to enter the race once again.

Now under new management, the race has been renamed as the Great Birmingham Run, the number of runners increased to 18,000 and the course slightly modified to improve the start and finish. Could I too go bigger and better and finish in under 2 hours?

You can find out by reading my story of the race on my website.

My other purpose in running was to raise as much as possible for the Amani Children's Home in Tanzania, which offers the hope of a better life to children who would otherwise have nothing. It started as a small project, but its international support and reputation have grown over the years. I raised over £500 for Amani in 2010 and set the same target for this year.

Have a look at the Amani website for more details... then have a look at your credit card, and keep it handy as you click the "Donate now" button.

It's been hard work running around the streets of Birmingham during my training, but at least I have a home to go back to at the end of each session. There are too many people in the world who don't have even that. Please join me in ensuring that the streets are places for adults to run, not for children to live.
