A team of 5 from Helsby Running Club and SolutionsPT has been assembled to sail from Barmouth, via Caernarfon, to climb Snowdon, Whitehaven to climb Scafell Pike and finally onto Fort William to climb Ben Nevis.  100% powered by sail, running and cycling legs!!! 

We set sail at 16:00 hours on Saturday 19th June and hope to finish within the week,   the race organisers hold a 'finish' party on Thursday evening and we would ideally love to be there too!

The Three Peaks Yacht Challenge is an extremely demanding team event where we race more than twenty other competitors from Barmouth in Wales to Fort William in Scotland in Trevors Beneteau 40 'Josephine'. Not only are we sailing 389 miles in one go but our runners  then have to run up and down Snowden, Scafell and Ben Nevis, three marathons in three to five days. Since they have a good chance of being seasick at some time this is an extreme challenge for them, as it is for the sailors since we have to negotiate many sandbanks, tidal streams and tidal races. Our competitors are coming from both local clubs and also internationally, some have even built their boat specially. Our goal is to finish, our hope is a respectable finish.
