Story
I have legendary organised an annual Hike for Co-op staff for the last 12 years and occasionally I do something on my own (Cycled John O'Groats to Lands End, Yorkshire 3 Peaks, National 3 Peaks, Manchester Blackpool cycle ride, Marathon and Half Marathons, Kilimanjaro....)
This is the latest :-
Basically its a 70km cycle ride that takes on the challenges of the Surrey Hills, total elevation for the day is 1,200m (or 3,937ft sounds more impressive) - famous for the recent Triathlon and Olympic cycling events - 3 hills in particular are called:-
Box Hill, - a summit of the North Downs in Surrey, approximately 30 km south-west of London. The hill takes its name from the ancient box woodland found on the steepest west-facing chalk slopes overlooking the River Mole. Elevation: 224 m
Leigth Hill, is a wooded hill 7 kilometres to the south west of Dorking, Surrey, England. It reaches 294 metres above sea level, the highest point on the Greensand Ridge, and is the second highest point in South East England. Elevation: 294 m
White Down, Ranmore, ascent is 2.17 km long. Over this distance, you climb 120m. The average percentage thus is 5.5 %.
I also aim to loose 20Kg in the next 13 months so this will be a good start!
