Day 4 Lochranza, Arran to Annan nr Dumfries 192 km / 120 miles.

Early hillclimb across Arran to meet the ferry at Brodick, because it was Easter Sunday first sailing not until 11am so we had plenty of miles to do before we reached our camp at Annan nr Dumfries - another long day in the saddle compounded by having no mobile signal and not having address of campsite ! Still we got there eventually.

Day 3 Oban to Lochranza,Isle of Arran - 108 km / 66 miles.

Thankfully a short day after late finish evening before, again gorgeous scenery on Kintyre and just in time to make the last ferry onto Arran - a wonderfully quiet, remote unspoilt place the best part of the whole trip and definitely recommended.

Satnav was left on overnight, hence 2 days in one, we had wanted to see the Great Glen and somehow thought that riding on the B road at the side of Loch's Ness, Ochie etc would be flat, how wrong were we !! But some great views to be had with all the hills.

We arrived at JOG approx 3pm Wednesday following the long drive up from Littleborough, a leisurely 17 miles to campsite in Wick saw us get a head start.

Between 23rd April and 3rd May we are riding the 1000 or so miles from John O' Groats to Lands' End.

As we are keen cyclists we decided to do this for fun and as a personal challenge. However lots of people have suggested that whilst we're doing this we would be daft not to try to raise a few pounds for charity.

We've chosen to support charities that have personal meaning to us, and we hope you agree they are worthwhile causes.

So in addition to Help for Heroes we are also supporting :-

The Prostrate Cancer Charity - cancer research & care.
