I'm doing this to raise awareness of and funds for research into Motor Neurone Disease.

I'm doing this because a guy who was once a hero of mine on the Football pitch and became a friend is now once again a hero but for an entirely different reason

In his late 30s and with three young children he was diagnosed with MND. Did he do what most people would, feel sorry for himself and give up? Did he hell. Instead he's done long distance bike rides and a 10K run to raise awareness and funds and is intent on running a Marathon.

His fight and his selflessness has inspired me to once again try to drag my old bones around the Great Manchester 10K. It might take me 2 hours I don't care. I may not raise a huge sum. I don't care.
