My story

We wanted to choose a charity for this trip that had a personal connection for us, something that we are passionate about. I have worked with young people on the autistic spectrum for a number of years now and I am very keen to support the work of the National Autistic Society, who provide so much valuable support and advice to those on the spectrum and their families and friends.

The young people I have taught drama to, along with my colleagues at Touchstone Shakespeare Theatre, are just so brilliant. Matthew, Martin, Lizzie, Perry, Jack..all of you. It is tough for them though as they face the challenges of growing up with autism. The world does not easily accommodate them. The National Autistic Society promotes understanding and provides practical solutions for people in their position. Whilst we pedal away they are in my thoughts and I am getting regular updates from the team of what everyone is up to. And by the way Matthew, I have gone more than 30 miles away!

Please, if you can, make a donation.

Thanks, Liz
