We have successfully completed the full course of the Penzance Rotary Club Ramble on 20th September 2009 - we even did a bit extra. We are raising funds for ACE - Aid Conservation through Education, a small volunteer-run charity based in Newmill, near Penzance. ACE assists nine rural primary schools in southwestern Uganda, close to the home of the mountain gorillas. You can find out more about ACE and see pictures of the schools at www.ace-charity.org.uk.
Because Penzance Rotary Club organised the event, ACE will be passing on 25% of your donations to them. They will be dividing it equally between Cornwall Hospice Care, The Stroke Association and Shelter Box.
We set our target at £1,350 so that, after giving 25% to the Rotary charities, we will be able to raise £1,000 for ACE. But we would love to raise more than that if we can.
By supporting ACE you can be sure that your gifts will be well spent, as ACE can make a little money go a long way.
• £1.50 will provide 50 pencils or exercise books
• £4 will provide 50 pens
• £10 will finance enough exercise books and pencils for a child for one year
• £23 will buy a double desk and bench seat
• £90 will finance one year’s part-time teacher training
• £4,500 will build a classroom
