This is a personal challenge for all 3 of us. The trip to Kilimanjaro is fully funded out of our own pockets but we thought it would be a great opportunity to raise money for a local charity. We are all either current or past residence of . We all got our start for hill walking in and around Snowdonia. Every time we use the mountains of Snowdonia, we know there are hazards and the terrain must be respected. Always in the back of your mind you know that if things were to go wrong, the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team are available 365 days of the year in all weather conditions to help.
The Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team is made up entirely of volunteers who live close to . All are skilled and experienced mountaineers turning out in all weathers, day or night, 365 days a year, to help anyone who is in trouble on the hills. Snowdon, the highest mountain in , is probably the busiest mountain in . The sheer volume of visitors coming to makes the Llanberis Rescue Team one of the busiest in the country.
The Rescue Team is a registered charity - No. 513913.
In order to fund the purchase of their equipment, specialist rescue kit and first aid supplies they have to rely almost entirely on voluntary donations.
