Philips' Motivation for taking on the challenge -
I'm overweight ! I'm getting old ! But I want to spend some time doing something for others I've recently taken up a old passion of mine cycling !and apart of being not as fit as I was 20 years ago I'm really enjoying it again
My brother very sadly passed away 30 years ago due to a heart condition, and I've got to say , I miss him now more than ever, and also I've lost other friends due to heart attacks , so ! Here I go ! I'm going to try my hardest ! And raise as much as I can ! And I'd love you my dear friends to donate to this very worthwhile charity , I've also been incredibly inspired by my dear friends Sarah burden, and Caroline Wareing who are very soon doing brilliant things for charity and I wish them so much luck and love , I'm very proud to know them
It's my aim to in the future to do a ride for cancer research, and a children's charity! So let's hope this first one goes well !
I'm so proud that my bestie dale burden is riding along with me to keep me company, he's a fantastic friend and I think the world of him he and his family very sadly lost his legend of a father Peter Burden to heart attack , he was a hero and a true gentleman in my eyes , and like Richard we all miss him very much , so we are going to give it the big guns !! And do our best xx
Thankyou so so much for taking the time to read this and , thankyou so so much for all your donations and support your all amazing! Xx
Dales' motivation for taking on the challenge -
When my biggest and close friend Mr Philip Judge said “We are doing the London to Brighton Bike Ride” – as he does!!! I was right up for the challenge for many reasons.
What a fantastic person and friend to be doing this with, and a lovely and beautiful family supporting him all the way. I never had the privilege of meeting Richard, however I know that being anything like Philip, he must have been an amazing man.
My wife Sarah, who continually inspires me, has recently run the London Marathon for Prostate Cancer UK, a far too common disease, in support of her father Michael who was diagnosed 10 years ago, and All the other people suffering from it.
The day of this challenging ride is June 18th, Father’s Day. Whilst I already had the will to get involved, this absolutely confirmed my desire to do it. I lost my father Peter 845 days ago, and as Philip mentions about his brother Richard, I miss my father more as time goes on, every day I have a thought about him, and smile!
So, to support the British Heart Foundation is very important to me. My father, family and friends were caught out by absolute surprise when my father suffered. So to raise funds for continual awareness of this very worthwhile charity, I hope to reduce the pain for others.
Thank you so much for reading our stories and all support
and donations are very much appreciated.
