Story
Thanks for visiting my Just Giving page and thank you to all those who have already made donations. This group includes Working Family Changemakers Victoria Broakes, Lucy Daniels, Alexandra Marks, Sylvie Young and Sarah Leijten.
Although the run happened last Sunday, it's still not to late to donate! I ran again for the charity Working Families with which I've been involved for 6 years and which I consider to be a very worthwhile cause.
Working Families helps children, working parents and carers and their employers find a better balance between responsibilities at home and work.
Most working families face tough decisions about childcare, money and time. Many employers have yet to be persuaded that work-life balance is good news.
From an employer's perspective, helping staff to balance their work and home lives aids staff retention, can increase productivity and, in the search for talent, can be an important aid to recruitment.
Of course running a charity like this, even with a tiny but dedicated staff, costs money and because we are in such straightened times, I urge you even more to make a donation. Every day the helpdesk hear more horror stories about employers not understanding, and perhaps not caring about the plight of their staff, particularly the low-paid ones, who sometimes have more than one job to make ends meet and yet are trying to bring up a family with all the pressures and strains that that brings.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Working Families and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for Working Families.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you very much in advance
Regards
Philip
