Alzheimer's Society - Himalayan Trek Nepal · 30 November 2010 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Well, I've been completely amazed by the response I've had and humbled by people's generosity. My origional target of £2000 at the time seemed daunting to me, but now I can see how little faith I had. Now with renewed vision I have set a new target of £7700 purely because my dear Mother will be 77yrs in October and also 7 is the perfect number.

When I saw this opportunity to go to the Himalayas with the Alzheimers Society I thought it was a chance not to be missed. As my Dad passed away last August and my Mum facing the onslaught of Alzheimers, I thought what a great way to raise money for a truly worthy cause.

Every penny that you give will go wholly to the Society ( I'm paying for the trek myself ). Your contribution will be helping to provide funding to research into the cause, cure and prevention of the disease; providing support for people with the illness; campaigning for improved health and social care and providing resources and traning
