Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.

Story

Many of my family and friends know that it's been nearly six years since Taylan passed away; lost to an inoperable, incurable brain tumour. Taylan was a friend of my son Taylor. His parents, Figen and Andy Rawlinson founded www.taylansproject.com in 2010 and I remain in awe at their determination and drive to do good, through campaigning and fund-raising for Brain Tumour Research.

It simply shouldn't happen, not to anyone and certainly not to a child. Less than 1% of cancer research funding supports finding a cure for brain tumours and you can help do something about that.

So I'm back on the bike, this time riding the 100 mile Capital to Coast on 28th June, from the London Eye to Brighton, along with 10 other riders. Fitness level? Questionable. Age? Not on my side. Determination? 100%

However, there's a twist. If I reach my target of £1000 before I ride, then I'm going to extend the ride - from my home in Calvert to Capital to Coast - 157 miles in total, in one day! And that means I'm setting off at 3am to make sure I'm at the  London Eye for the official 'off' at 730am....
