Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited, when everyone living with CF can look forward to a long, healthy life. www.cysticfibrosis.org.uk

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As you may know I suffer from Cystic Fibrosis (CF). In May 2010 I was told I needed a double lung transplant as CF was severely damaging my lungs. Since being told my health declined rapidly but I managed to stablize enough to stay alive whilst I waited for a transplant.

After five long months on the waiting list and four false calls, on 5/5/2011 I was lucky enough to receive the gift of life; a double lung transplant. Because of a stranger I am still here today and have a second chance to live. Because of their generosity I feel absolutely fantastic, the best I've ever felt. I also feel so lucky to be alive! And will always be enternally grateful to my donor and their wonderful family.

I have decided I want to give something back and have chosen to start with the Yorkshire 10K run. I will be running along with my husband, close friend Amy and her partner Martin.

We will be incredibly grateful for any donations received.
