Story
Hello...
I am raising money to complete a 6 month volunteer trip in Peru for Kiya Survivors starting in February 2011.
Kiya is a UK registered charity that builds and maintains Educational Centres for children with special needs or those who have been abused, neglected or abandoned in Peru. They also run an outreach project in the community and two children's homes.
There is virtually no help for children with special needs in Peru and often they are viewed as a curse from God or the "devils children" due to fear and misunderstanding.
I intend to leave full time work and wages, which is pretty scary, and use my skills as a social worker to try and help! I need to raise £3,500 to make the trip and any small donations you can make will be gratefully appreciated. These donations go directly to the charity.
Please see www.kiyasurvivors.org if you want more information!
Thank you,
Phillipa x
