Story
Family, Friends, Colleagues.
It was this time last year that my world was turned upside down. Being diagnosed with Stage 3 Kidney cancer in March 2017 was just the saddest time for everyone around me. Nobody teaches you how to cope with or deal with a life changing disease, nor is everyone's journey the same as I have recently learned. Being brave is the option I chose to cope with my illness as it gave me the belief to win and the satisfaction of helping others. The sad reality of Cancer is that being brave isn't always the cure. Almost a year to the day of my diagnosis a good friend to many and loyal work colleague Sue Kilmore passed away as a result of Kidney Cancer in March 2018. Sue was an incredibly brave individual, that lived a relatively short life as a result of her illness. Her matter of fact approach to life along with her sense of humour is all the motivation I need to get on my bike.
I will be riding from London to Amsterdam with fellow Scannappeal heroes to make the difference to as many lives as possible. Your generosity through donations provides life saving equipment that the NHS are unable to fund.
I've learned so much about myself in 12 months but the one thing that sticks with me is this... If you get the opportunity in life to make a difference... Take it, because one day you might be that difference.
Thanks for being kind with your donation, by doing so you become a future lifesaver.
