Phoenix Cinema
Phoenix Cinema Centenary Restoration Project
Fundraising for Phoenix Cinema
The Phoenix Cinema is about to enter its centenary year celebrating 100 years of cinema. Within these walls, the history of film has unfolded, unreeled, unspooled - from silent movies to digital projection. Surviving two world wars and the fight to save the cinema from developers in the 1980s, the building is so much more than the sum of its parts, it echoes with the dialogue and music of movies gone by and is still a consummate, unspoiled venue in which to enjoy filmgoing.
The cinema is about to undergo a much need renovation and the building of a cafe/bar which will help support it for years to come. When we started fundraising about two years ago, we needed to raise £1.1 million. With the help of the Heritage Lottery Fund and many other donors, we now only need to raise the final £30,000. Please help restore this gem of a cinema.* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
