Story

I am cycling from Edinburgh to London to raise money and awareness of the plight of Palestinian civilians. Any sponsorship will go to providing medical aid to Palestinian children

Last years bombardment by Israeli forces killed 2100 Palestinians, with 400 being children. The leaders of the world barely remarked, whilst the people were on the streets outraged by the terrible civilian bloodshed.

The Palestinian population is subject to terrible apartheid. It is undoubted that the Israeli government policy is one of eradicating any Palestinian presence in what they see as being Israel. Funded by the US and armed by many, including ourselves, Palestinians are driven out of their homes illegally and killed with impunity. International and humanitarian law is over looked. It is just wrong.

I am also doing this in solidarity with Muslims all round the world.

I have worked and travelled through many Muslim countries and have encountered nothing but friendship and kindness. Since 1992 over 4 million Muslims have been killed by our governments and we wonder why Isil attracts followers..

I like many of us knew we should never have gone into Iraq in 2003. It was illegal and wrong and Bush and Blair should be in jail.

I reach out to people all around the world and can only put forward the idea that the problems we face we face together. Let us put aside the propaganda of leaders on all sides and join together as one family. Islam recognises all peoples as being the same - as we are all people of the Book.
