Story
Piers are Jason are climbing Mont Blanc on 19th & 20th July 2010 and we need your help!!
You may ask why we would want to drag our (now not so young) bodies up Europe’s highest mountain, enduring temperatures of -20 degrees, possible frostbite, altitude sickness and all in all a trip which involves 48 hours of pain??? . . . Well all in the name of charity for two very worth while causes. . (and fun of course!!)
At 4810 meters it is not the tallest but technically is one of the most challenging mountains to climb in the world with a success rate of only 45% of the people who attempt it. For this reason a huge amount of training and preparation has already started as fitness is key to giving us the best chance possible to reach the summit and return safely.
With your help we want to raise enough money to have a massive two day drinking session and a nice holiday in the Maldives when we have finished. . . Ha! . . Not really!! J
All proceeds will be going to two very worthy causes... 'Ian Rennie Hospice at Home', enabling patients with cancer to have supporting assistance in their own homes, and 'Bliss', the special care baby charity, providing vital support and care to premature and sick babies.
So how about that you even have a choice as to where your donation will go. If you want to support ‘Bliss’ then you can do so on this page below. If you wish to support ‘Iain Rennie’ then please follow this link: http://www.justgiving.com/JasonandPiers-ClimbMonteBlanc to our other page where you can make your donation.
So please DIG DEEP as every penny raised will be going to a great cause. In return we will keep you updated with the odd text message as to how we are getting on before and throughout the event.Thank you to one and all in advance as your support is very much appreciated!!
Love Piers and Jason
