The MicroLoan Foundation is a truly inspired idea: it helps some of the poorest people in the world look after themselves through the provision of small loans and business training.  Within four months, the majority of loans are repaid in full so cash is recirculated - it is therefore a very different approach to charity.

Because the charity is small, money recirculated and costs kept to a minimum, small contributions can go a long way.
