I'm swimming a mile across Lake Windermere on September 12th to raise funds for the Cavendish Cancer Care Centre in Sheffield. In 2003, when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and receiving chemotherapy, I went to the Cavendish Centre and found it to be an oasis of calm.There, I received 6 sessions of shiatsu massage, absoutely free of charge,  and I know it helped me to deal with the illness and make a recovery. It's a truly amazing place and it depends 100% on donated funds. At some point in your life, you will be affected by cancer, whether it's you or someone close to you, and, whilst I know you get loads of requests like this, I'd really love to think that between us, we could pay for at least one more person to receive help from this wonderful centre.
