Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As you know, we lost our darling Susie very suddenly to a particularly aggressive form of ovarian cancer. The speed and voracity of her illness stunned us all. However, after nearly 3 years we feel we would like to do something positive for the angels who cared for Mum at Willen Hospice and in turn, other families who go through the same. Without these 'midwives to the soul', we would never have managed to get through the journey with the humanity, warmth and dignity that they ensured.

It is a travesty that Willen Hospice, and all hospices like it, rely almost solely on charity donations to survive. However, until that changes, we feel we want to do our bit to support the staff and the families that pass through the door.

I have decided (like an idiot!) that I will attempt to do the London Marathon on behalf of Willen Hospice. Although I have done a marathon before, it was 11 years ago and I was a soldier and I hadn't had 2 kids and 11 years of body abuse! (excuses out the way!). I would be so grateful if could help me heave myself out the door on those dark and cold training mornings, by sponsoring me any pennies you can spare ... in memory of our Susie.

As Willen Hospice is a local charity, I have challenged Newton Blossomville and the surrounding villages to fill a jam jar between now and next April and then sponsor me the contents. If you would prefer to donate like this (especially those of you with young ones!), please let me know and I will email you a label (pipwarwick@hotmail.com).
