Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Big Walk JustGiving page. More information about The Big Walk can be found at www.shef.ac.uk/big-walk

The Big Walk combines two key events. The Pennine Way and the Staff Challenge.   20 alumni, staff and friends will walk the full Pennine Way covering 286 miles in 15 days during the first two weeks of September. On the final day the Staff Challenge will see individuals and teams from the University walk from Edale to Sheffield covering 18 miles. I am splitting the walk with another colleague by walking half of the Penine way (www.nationaltrail.co.uk/penine-way).

We are doing this to raise funds for Lung Disease research at the University of Sheffield, specifically our leading research in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension - a life–threatening condition affecting the lungs and the right side of the heart. If you would like to read more about this condition please check out the university page on the link given above.

There are many worthy causes and I am sure some of it is more personal to you than others. But I sincerely hope that you will support me and lung disease research by donating generously.
