WE are... Penny John,My Sister, Sharon Stevens, My Son Daniel Harris-John,His Fiancee Lyndsey Aylott and our friends from the south Garry Reed and Kim Warren. We are all entered into the Plymouth to Banjul Challenge for 2010.
Penny and Sharon are team "Wowee Wimmin", Dan & Lyndsey are team "Gower Power" and Garry & Kim are team "Scrap Dash"
Both Garry & Kim and Dan & Lyndsey are veterans of the challenge, having done this and the Mali route before.
For Dan it all started in 2006, he and his mate Sam raised money for Cancer Research, Dan survived Testicular Cancer at 15 and wanted to give something back. He went onto the Mali challenge with Lyndsey in Jan 09 along with Garry and Kim. He threw down the gauntlet to us, his Mum and Aunt and we couldn't let the boy down now could we? We are both in our fiesty fifties and love a challenge!
We decided to raise funds for Help For Heroes as Dan's Brother Karl has recently come out of the RAF and many of his friends and comrades have sadly been injured or worse in recent conflicts. His Sister Danie is also married to Charlie who recently retired from the Royal Fleet Air Arm so the fundraising seemed doubly apt.
We are all self funding for the challenge so anything you give goes straight to Help For Heroes......
