My story

Hello and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As it is a year since my dad died, I wanted to do something to remember him by.  So, I plan to run the London Marathon in April 2010.

26.3 gruelling miles around the City of London, to raise money for the British Lung Foundation.  It is my hope to raise £1600.

The British Lung Foundation is the umbrella charity that covers all lung diseases.  Including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), the condition from which dad suffered.  As yet, there is little known about the causes or best course of treatment for IPF.  The money raised will go towards helping all types of lung disease including IPF.  Lung disease affects one person in seven in the UK.  Whether it’s mild asthma or lung cancer, the British Lung Foundation aims to help every one of them.

I would be most grateful to receive as much or as little as you are willing or able to give to this worthy cause.  In return I promise to make it over that finish line (the time it takes is not important!).  I will keep you updated with my training and race day.......

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page and many thanks for your generosity in advance.
