Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am inviting my friends to sponsor an organisation I volunteer for: Assist Sheffield. You can find out more about their work on their website (http://www.assistsheffield.org.uk/) but briefly they support refused asylum seekers who have had their final appeal rejected but who are not deported for any of a number of reasons. They are then left destitute: unable to work or claim any benefits. I work as a volunteer in the night shelter two nights a month, sleeping in a church hall with anywhere up to a dozen people who have nowhere else to go and helping to oversee this arrangement. As usual when asking for sponsorship I want to say that I will run whether or not anyone makes a donation to the charity (I couldn't run between the end of May and the end of December last year because of an Achilles problem and it's great to be back training) but knowing from past begging emails that some of you will give makes a great day even better.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
