Iron Mum Challenge · 5 September 2009

BIBS supports babies and their families on the neonatal unit, Buscot Ward at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. Funds raised go towards funding life-saving equipment for the babies, providing emotional support for families throughout a baby's stay & in the community, and improving ward facilities.

Story

Back in 2008 I gave birth 3 months early to my daughter Millie who has now turned into a healthy teenager and I thank my lucky stars daily 🙏

To mark this milestone I have decided to run 46kms (28 miles) on my 46th Birthday to raise funds for the charity BIBS - Babies in Buscot Support which is the premature baby unit where Millie spent many weeks in intensive care.

Since 2009 I have been consistently running as well as doing other forms of exercise.  I have taken part in running and tri events over the last decade but have never done a full marathon.  As Covid-19 has meant all big events are temporarily cancelled I have decided to set myself this personal challenge to complete on my birthday.  I would like to complete this event in the best time I possibly can and by doing so raise money for BIBS.
