May 2013: Thank you very much to everyone who kindly donated towards the cost of Poppy's vet bills. Everyone at Oldies Club is thrilled that Poppy made a great recovery from her operation and has since been adopted into a loving forever home :-)

Hi, I'm Poppy, an adorable ten year old Staffie girl, who came into the care of Oldies Club recently, when my previous owner moved to rented accommodation that didn't allow dogs :-(

Unfortunately, as you can see from the photo, my right eye is looking rather poorly. My foster 'Mum' took me to the vet, who advised that I have either glaucoma or a major infection. Not good news either way and sadly the vet and Oldies Club have had to make the decision to remove my eye.

My operation has been booked and my eye will be removed very soon. Oldies Club has been told the cost will be approximately £350 (though we will update this page if the cost increases). I would be very grateful if you could spare a donation to help towards my vet bill.

Please note that should Oldies Club supporters be generous enough to donate more than is needed for my vet bill, any excess money will be directed to the charity’s general fund and used to help other older dogs in its care.
