We support the growing number of people in and around Milton Keynes affected by a life-limiting illness. We give our patients and their loved ones specialist, personalised care - free of charge. Only 13.8% of our costs are met by ongoing NHS funding, so we’re dependent on your support. Thank you.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are employees of Siemens Enterprise Communications Limited named "Positive Impact" and we are from different areas of the business all taking part in a charity based project for Willen Hospice.

Willen Hospice is a registered charity that provides specialist care for people whose illness no longer responds to curative treatment.  They work in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas to provide care for people from the age of 18 years upwards who are diagnosed with cancer and other life limiting illnesses.  The hospice services are provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without any cost to the patient or their families.
Due to the current financial climate the hospice is facing a shortfall of at least £500,000 Considering their operating costs are £3.4 million this is a considerable amount.

Taking this into accountwe as a group have taken on the challenge of assisting the hospice by carrying out some necessary maintenance work for them and improving their day room facilities.
The Garden Room is a facility where patients get the chance to spend quality time with their friends and family, and to discuss their illnesses with other residents in a similar situation, whilst receiving treatment and care.  This time out is a valuable part of their treatment.

To help us to achieve our goal we would like to raise £5,000 to carry out this work.  Our aim is to source the majority of what we need from local business but you can help our project donating cash to help us purchase materials.
We require any generous donations by 16th August, as we have made a commitment with Willen Hospice to complete the refurbishment on 9th and 10th September so that patients and their families can benefit from a facility which matches the standard of care that they are receiving.
