Hello, and thank you for taking the time to look at our fund raising page

AND THE WINNER IS................... GARETH REECE, PLANNING DEPT, KNIGHTON

Congratulations to Gareth for guessing nearest to the number of steps taken from Bournville to Knighton.

The number of steps was 98,757.  Gareth's guess was an incredible 143 difference!!  Some guesses were MILLIONS out but all in a good cause.

We would like to thank everyone who took part - and just look at our total!! We have a charity football match coming up on 17th July at Knighton between Premier Knighton, Manor Bakeries Stoke and Manor Bakeries Moreton and a Race Night at the Social Club. More details on these events later.

If you want to see Gareth receiving his £100 (kindly donated by Knighton Family Social Club) take a look through the photos. Thanks again

......................................................................

CONGRATULATIONS to our Knighton team who either walked or pulled the vintage canal boat all the way from Bournville to Knighton.

Members of staff from Cadburys joined the team for the send off on Thursday and there were dozens of people lined up to meet them at Knighton wharf on Saturday afternoon.  Some even joined them further down the canal and walked the last few miles with the boat and team.  Arrival at Knighton Wharf was followed by a well earned drink in the Social Club and a BBQ.

Collections and donations during the three day journey totalled over £500, with more money still coming in from the sponsorship and Justgiving.com. A final total for this event is still awaited – as is the final number of steps – (The total number of steps is still a secret whilst sponsor forms are collated).  Winner of the £100 prize (which has also been donated) will be announced in due course.

Thanks again for all your support – we are still short of our target – so your help is still much appreciated.  We must also thank Dave Jones for loaning us the boats and Rob for staying with us on the support boat for the three days.

Much appreciated by all.

ALL PREMIER FOODS SITES HAVE BEEN CHALLENGED WITH THE TASK OF RAISING £5,000 FOR CANCER RESEARCH UK.

THE KNIGHTON CHALLENGE

The Senior Team and colleagues at  Premier Foods Knighton propose to PULL a vintage canal boat along the Shropshire Union Canal approximately 40 miles from Bournville to Knighton, thus recreating the original form of transporting sugar and cocoa between the two factories. This is to be carried out over a three day period.  (6th / 7th / 8th May 2010)

HOW MANY STEPS?

The team will take turns to pull the canal boat, with one member at a time wearing a pedometer to calculate the number of steps taken to reach the final destination.

PRIZE MONEY

There will be a £100 prize to the person guessing the correct number of steps taken. In the event of a tie, the money will be split between the winners.

Sponsorship forms can be obtained by emailing Susan.Broadhurst@premierfoods.co.uk

However, should you wish to make a donation direct please use this web site.  All contributions, however large or small are greatfully received.
