So, here we are with literally just a few weeks before the big "off", and we have assembled a small but highly dedicated clan of 5 volunteers willing to give day after day of their precious free time to train hard, prepare, and actually "do" Britain's biggest mountain challenge - Ben Nevis, Sca Fell Pike & Snowdon in 24 hours!
We're going to do it, and do it properly! We're going to raise money for two great causes, and this page is for Primrose House Trust, Middleton, Near Morecambe.
Primrose House believes even the most profoundly disabled young person can live in the real world. Providing 24/7 residential care for severely disabled young adults, Primrose ensures that the residents receive the highest quality of care in a safe, loving environment. Allied to the range of obvious human needs, there is a corresponding range of staff skills, from physiotherapy to nusing, gardening to on-site education and recreation; to supervision in off-site heated swimming pools. The team works tirelessly to give the residents a quality of life that society would not normally give them.
We're a group of novice weekend walkers who have made a commitment to raise money doing something we love! We're all different, we do different things, in different ways, in different places. But we are bound by our charitable goals and a love of the mountains.
English Lakes Hotels have also kindly agreed to donate a stay in one of their 4-star hotels, for 2 people inclusive of Dinner, Bed & Breakfast for our "guess the exact time" competition. Yep, that's right, for every donation received over £5 via this website you are eligible to guess how long it will take our plucky bunch of 5 volunteers to complete the challenge (Hrs:Mins:Secs). Please put your estimated time with the donation message. Remember, we're aiming for 24 hours, and we BELIEVE we can do it, but how close will we be? The closest guess will win this wonderful prize!
