Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

On Sunday 25^th October, I will be taking part in the Great South Run and running 10 miles in order to raise money for the National Children's Orchestra (NCO).

The National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain provides musically-talented children aged 7 - 14 with the training and opportunity to play together in full symphony orchestras. Talent, musicality and excellence at audition are the sole criteria for entry; due to fundraising no talented child is ever denied a place with the National Children's Orchestra for lack of funds.

This cause is close to our hearts because Shana was privileged enough to be selected to play with the NCO this year (we paid her fees of course!) and we saw first hand how amazing it is for such young children to be given the opportunity to play at a level beyond their years.

By raising money, the NCO can fund those talented children who can not afford to pay for their place.

Every year all the children in the current orchestras have to re-audition alongside all the up-and-coming talented children from across the UK, so the orchestra always maintains its incredibly high standards!

Whether Shana is accepted or not this year, I strongly feel that this opportunity should be given to talented children regardless of their financial background.

Running these 10 miles/ 16 kilometres will be a great challenge for me, as due to my particularly demanding work, home and child-care routine, I have only just started a training regime!!! ….Help!!
