PeopleRun is a growing community of runners raising £5,000 for Naomi House children’s hospice by running 10, 10k races, the Greath South Run, Reading Half and Amsterdam Marathon over two years.
We've got people joining us for one or two races along the way, some joining for the whole lot and others giving us support and encouragement alongside their sponsorship.
Sponsoring us is easy. All of the PeopleRun fundraisers are asking sponsors to donate to through this page.
Interested in running and raising funds through PeopleRun? We would love to have you on board! Getting involved is easy - apart from the running bit :) - so if you'd like to help us raise money for a great cause, here's how to get involved:
1. Pick an event
We'll be posting the details of our forthcoming races well in advance on the Peoplerun blog so check back for updates on a regular basis. If the dates and distance we're planning don't work for you, pick a different event.
For example, the 2011 Reading Half Marathon isn't on our plan, but we have someone who decided to run the race and raise funds for PeopleRun in the process. If you want to run in more than one event, you are more than welcome to do so.
2. Tell us about your plan
Drop us a note to let us know when and where you're planning to run. We'll support as much as we can to make sure people know about your activities. We may even ask you to write a guest blog post for our site to help publicise the event and the project.
3. Start fundraising!
Tell your friends and family what you're planning to do and ask them to support you through by donating through this page. It will also help to keep your motivation up if your nearest and dearest know about the personal challenge you're setting.
4. Get on your feet
Start training early. If you've not run much before, there are a host of resources available online to get you started. Try Runners World or Running Bug for starters, but we'll also bring you regular guest posts from friends of PeopleRun which will also be useful.
Remember, it can be tough at the start, but you'll soon find runs get easier and before you know it you'll be running further and for longer than you thought would be possible.
We hope the project inspires you to put your running gear on, whatever your ability and would love to hear how you’re getting involved.
