Protimos is taking part in the 10k walk this year to raise funds for our work.

Protimos is an international organisation of lawyers who provide access to law for indigenous and marginalised communities in the developing world, to prevent or rectify the unjust exploitation of their natural resources.

Legal empowerment of a poor community is vital for its ethical, sustainable development to be achieved and maintained. In the process of globalisation, indigenous communities who are marginalised from the law and the protection that it affords, often find themselves vulnerable to exploitation and corruption.

We help such communities find a legal voice, enabling them to derive economic benefits from their natural resources and gradually to emerge from poverty. We train local lawyers, supporting them to take on cases on behalf of their communities, and we provide communities with information on their legal rights and how to assert them. All funds received from this page will be donated to Protimos except for the Gift Aid which will be used by the London Legal Support Trust to fund London's law centres.
