We are The Blessed Tribe, aka Qabeelat Barakah. We're supporting DoctorsWorldwide, a charity providing comprehensive medical care to some of the world's most vulnerable people, by aiming to donate 1,000 insecticide-impregnated mosquito nets to the people of Congo in an effort to help prevent the spread of malaria.

"The Fight Against Malaria" is the first project undertaken by us and we hope to raise £3,000 to buy 1,000 mosquito nets, at £3 per net..... we plan to do this by climbing Mount Snowdon in Wales on 4th July 2010 and asking as many people as possible to sponsor us!

UPDATE 30/06/10: We have reached our target of £3,000 four days before the Challenge!!! This is brilliant and means that we have achieved our aim of buying 1,000 mosquito nets for the people of Congo! A massive thank you to everyone who has donated.

But we don't want to stop there! At Qabeelat Barakah we want to raise the bar higher... so we are setting a new target... £6,000! Please do continue with your kind donations to this fantastic cause; every £3 donated is an additional net that can help save the lives of an entire family.

UPDATE 05/07/10: After taking advice from professional guides, the Snowdon Challenge was abandoned on 4th July 2010 due to extreme weather conditions. The Challenge is to be rescheduled for later this month, God willing.

UPDATE 15/08/10: Not only have we met our target of raising £3,000 to buy 1,000 mosquito nets, we have well and truly smashed it! The total so far from all donations (including Gift Aid supplements) is £10,192.76!

That means DoctorsWorldwide can purchase 3,397 mosquito nets for the people of Congo allowing 2,397 more families to fight malaria than originally planned! Mashallah tabarkallah, what a fantastic effort!
