In 2008, a number of members of the QEGS teaching staff spent a night on the pavement outside school in order to raise money for the Community Awareness Programme in Wakefield. Mr Fitz even got his face on Look North (see Video above) and they raised £3500.
CAP seeks to help relieve the want and poverty in the Wakefield District and beyond. Anyone in need can access the service which provides food, clothing housewares, furniture, as well as providing shower facilities, advice, counselling and signposting to other providers.
Last year, more members of staff got involved and raised even more money, sleeping out on the coldest night of the year, as the first snow fell!
This year we are hoping to do even better and raise as much as possible for this worthwhile local charity, which QEGS has been working closely with in recent years. The New Headmaster Mr Craig has agreed to join us and, even though there is snow forecast, we hope that you will be generous in your support of our endeavours.
