Deliver your Qurbani with Muslim Charity The Muslim ummah is fast approaching the most sacred events in the Islamic Calender, that of Hajj and Eid ul Adha. Eid ul Adha also marks the beginning of qurbani – a unique opportunity to attain closeness to Allah Almighty. In a hadith of Tirmidi it is narrated:  “There is nothing dearer to Allah during the days of qurbani than the sacrificing of animals.” Trimidi, Ibn Majah  Over the three days of Eid ul Adha Muslims around the world sacrifice animals in line with the sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh) and distribute the meat amongst the poorest as well as friends and family. Over the years Muslim Charity has performed qurbani on behalf of thousands of donors and distributed the meat amongst your neediest Muslim brothers and sisters around the world.  Through Muslim Charity you can deliver your qurbani in the below 12 countries in 2011. However in response to the humanitarian emergencies caused by the recent Sindh Floods in Pakistan and the drought and famine in Somalia (see below) this year qurbani project will carry a special focus for the victims of these disasters. Food for Families appeal: Feed families for £50 Sindh Floods The recent floods in Sindh, Pakistan, have displaced millions who are in need of basic aid and assistance. Muslim Charity’s emergency relief operation was launched early focusing on the distribution of food. The operation has already fed over 5000 families across Sindh, and our Qurbani 2011 project will reach out to thousands more, but with 8.9 million affected more help is needed. With a £50 donation you can feed needy families in Sindh and help Muslim Charity reach out to another 1000 families. Somalia Famine The famine in East Africa has left millions on the verge of death through starvation, and relief will not come until the next harvest is due in March/April. Somalia is worst affected, with 750,000 children alone at risk of death if no urgent assistance is provided! Muslim Charity is delivering aid worth £1million with an emphasis on emergency food supply and urges you to consider the starving in Somalia when allocating your Qurbani. We also urge you to donate an additional £50 to supply emergency food for these families.
