Wipe Away Those Tears grants special wishes for children in Essex, with life limiting or life threatening illnesses. We have no overheads or administrative costs, so every penny raised goes to the intended cause. Our application process is so simple. We want to help as many families as possible.

Story

Two years ago we had to say goodbye to our nephew/cousin Jake.  Not a day goes by when we don't think of him, and we miss his smiles, his laughter, his wicked sense of humour, his crazy money-making schemes, his endless knowledge of cricket, football & NFL, and, ironically, his love of life.  Our lives will never be the same again, there will always be someone missing from our table, and a gaping hole where Jake should be.

In Jake's memory, members of his family and his friends have raised tens of thousands of pounds for charity, and on April 6th Rog and Joel will be walking the LDWA Capital Challenge to raise money for Wipe Away Those Tears.  WATT is a charity local to Essex, who, in a time of need, supported Jake and generously provided him with a specialised motorised wheelchair which enabled him to have some independence.  And boy, did that wheelchair go fast!

The Capital Challenge is a 28 mile walk around London, taking in London’s finest parks and architecture The walk sets off from the Southbank, under Waterloo Bridge, and finishes near the Olympic Park in Stratford.
