Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Please take a few moments to read the following...

After being in and out of hospital undergoing tests etc.. since last February my mum was diagnosed with uterus cancer.

After undergoing an hysterectomy, which in itself is a major operation, she had to undergo 5 sessions of chemotheraphy which resulted in hair loss, lack of appetite, severe bouts of sickness.nausea and continual pain.

On Tuesday 17th November 2009 She completed the course of chemotheraphy and was making very good progress and the cancer seemed to be under control.

She needed rest and recuperation until she was fit enough to undergo 25 bouts of radiotheraphy, which would comprise of 10-15 min sessions over 5 weeks (mon-fri)..

On Thursay 19th November at approx 6.30pm, After a 2 day illness which was firstly diagonsed as swine flu but was infact pneumonia my one and only brother,my parents eldest child passed away, one month short of his 50th birthday.

The shock we all felt was overwhelming, imagine what a parent must feel having to see their childs dead body?

Obviously this put my mums recovery back no end,but with great courage she eventually agreed to continue with her radiotheraphy once she gained enough strength and will power to carry on a few weeks after the cremation of my brother.

Eventually after a very hard battle with the radiotheraphy, which in itself was a struggle (travelling with my Dad to LRI every day for 5 weeks(monday to Friday for a 10-15 minute session)in the cold and snow

By the end of Feb the DR gave my mum a clean bill of health and said that as far as they were concerned the cancer was all gone, although they would be keeping a close eye on her and monitoring her progress as it would still be a battle to regain all the weight and strenght that she had lost both physically and mentally.

On 9th March 2010 my mum and myself had a day out and about in which she seemed to have regained her vigour and personality. She spoke about the death of my brother and how things are meant to be,she even made me order lunch for her which we ate together and i hugged her goodbye and told her that she was definitely on the road to recovery and that we should all watch out!!!

I spoke to her on the Wednesday and again she seemed back to her usual cheerful self, after a lengthy conversation i said i'd see her tomorrow.

At 0420am on the Thursday i received a call from my Dad.

I raced over to my parents house(only a mile away)

The paramedics were attending to my mum,but she had passed away in her sleep.

The post mortem report stated that she died of heart failure.

Im sure we all know people affected by this bastard disease,so please give whatever you feel happy to contribute.

In these economic times i know money is tight and it seems every Tom Dick and Rajjy*** is doing something for charity but even if you can only spare a quid or such,it will make a difference.

*** In no way am i being disrespectful to anyone who has taken time and effort to try and make money for a charity.

100 %  respect to all of them, but i know people can get annoyed with constant requests for money...so please only give what you are happy to give....GIve little but with a smile!!!

Thanks.

xx
