Story

RAMzine want to help Ryan Edwards!

Ryan Edwards is a five year old boy fighting Neuroblastoma – an aggressive form of cancer, which he has been battling since he was just two. In this time he has beaten the disease twice, but sadly it has returned again, and Ryan now needs treatment in Germany which is going to cost £300,000.

Ryan’s mum and dad will take him to Germany for a haploidentical stem cell transplant. This transplant cannot be funded by the NHS which is why Ryan needs everyone’s help to raise the money. No matter how small the donation, every little helps.

Ryan’s parents, Julie and Gareth, said; “Ryan is now five and a half. He is a loving, happy, funny boy who deserves the best chance of a full and long life. Please help up to give him that chance and the hope that he can beat this monstrous disease.”

Neuroblastoma is a childhood cancer; the most common cancer diagnosed in the first year of life and accounts for around 15% of cancer deaths in children. Approximately 100 new cases of neuroblastoma are diagnosed every year in the UK. Of these babies and children, around 50 – approximately half – will have a high risk disease like Ryan’s. Neuroblastoma is the commonest ‘solid’ cancer diagnosed in babies and children.

At the time of writing, his family and friends have raised £87,000 which is 29% of their final total. RAMzine want to help Ryan towards his target.

That’s why we’re asking for any donations from yourselves in the music industry. Limited edition records, signed albums and merchandise, merch bundles, meet and greet tour experiences….you name it, we’ll appreciate it.

Our final goal is to auction off these items later this year and give Ryan the proceeds as a Christmas present towards his treatment. We are not disillusioned, we know that there is a slim chance we will raise enough to meet the £300,000 total, however we do know that he and his family will appreciate every single penny we do raise for him.

Anything you’d be willing to donate would be massively appreciated. You can find all of the links below, including Ryan’s justgiving story and donation page, and the blog that his parents update very regularly.

If you are wanting to donate material to be auctioned please contact cheri@ramzine.co.uk
