Story
Lorraine, Luke, Danielle, Laura, Emma and Peter, welcome you to our page....
We will being taking part in the Charity Shop Challenge Day.
This is to support a local Shoreditch charity called The Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT). SCT offer support, rehabilitation and training services to people facing problems of homelessness, addiction, and social isolation. This includes a daily drop in centre, a rehabilitation hostel, a therapy program and a training centre. Often when we get off the tube at Liverpool Street and walk through the golden pavements of the City, we forget that beyond the edge of Bishopsgate, life is not paved with gold for everyone. 45 years ago, there were 1000 people regularly sleeping rough in Spitalfields. Today this has improved but it is still grim. This small charity in Shoreditch requires £200k of donations to continue this work in the community.
We will be competing against our colleagues, to run a charity shop for the day and increase the shop takings by any means possible, over and above their normal daily financial take.
The team is the group of misfits, miscreants and mobsters who can cajole, caress and conjure, more money from the general public than has previously been possible. The winning team each day is the team that raises the highest PERCENTAGE takings for their shop, which hopefully will be us!
Please give generously and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, visit our shop, it's only a 10 minute walk away from Bishopsgate in Watney Market, Whitechapel, E1, on the 15th June. I'm sure there will be some fun and games....we are also looking for donations for the shop, so please get in touch with any of us if you have anything contribute.
Thank you again for your support, THE WINNING TEAM
Luke Grose, Lorraine Cahill, Laura Lowe, Danielle Cole, Emma King and Peter Russell
