Story

DIY Week group ad manager Rachael Lyon and editor Will Parsons will be taking to the skies (and then jumping out of a plane!) as part of the inaugural Rainy Day Trust Parachute Jump.

Yes, you read it right, Will and Rachael will be jumping out of a plane at a height of 13,500 ft and doing a 45-second freefall at 120mph before the parachute is deployed.

And no, before you ask, we are not taking offers to jump without a parachute!

There are 17 volunteers taking part and all of us will be doing a tandem jump at the British Army Parachute Association training centre at Netheravon, Wiltshire, right in the middle of the MOD's training facilities on Salisbury Plain.

The purpose of the jump is to raise much-needed funds for the industry charity the Rainy Day Trust, and each member of the team has undertaken to raise £1,000 - but we need your help to get there!

We might be scared, we might be mad, but if you help us get to our £2k target we'll definitely be jumping!

Dig deep!

Massive thanks in advance,

Will and Rachael

ps videos of us in tears will be available after the event
