Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Until a couple of years ago neither myself or my husband (Tony) had ever heard of the Willow Foundation.
That was until I became seriously ill with Cancer and our worlds were turned upside down.
Our lives completey changed as I was faced with emergency treatment that ended up being ongoing over a lengthy 12 month period. This consisted of an operation, radiotherapy and then chemotherapy with many complications along the way.
There were a lot of uncertain times and at many different stages of the treatment, I fell very poorly and was often admitted to hospital.
This was when my Macmillan nurse told us about Willow.
Willow arranged and funded a fantastic trip for both me and my husband to travel to London for two nights to take in and enjoy a West End show and both act out and experience being zoo keepers for the day (pictures above).
It was just great and after such a long traumatic haul through very dark times was just what we both needed.
Unlike a lot of other people that Willow arrange events for, I am very fortunate to still be here and be able to tell the tale.
Now this is our time to try and give a little back to enable Willow to be able to fund events for other seriously sick and terminally ill young adults.
So on my birthday (Dec 30th 2009) my husband and I will be doing a sponsored walk from Bristol to Bath on the old cycle path in aid of raising money for Willow.
Nobody expects to be seriously or terminally ill at such a young age so we are just thankfull that there is a Willow Foundation, so that they can try to brighten up the lives of these unfortunate people.
