Hello lovely people,

On 25th April, Natalie, Anne and Melissa will be running 26.2miles/42 kilometres in the Virgin London Marathon 2010 in order to raise money for The REDRESS Trust. This human rights non-governmental organisation based in London helps survivors to obtain justice and reparation (including remedies such as public acknowledgement, prosecution, compensation and rehabilitation) from the perspective that justice assists victims to move beyond disadvantage.

We have agreed to run many many miles for this Charity because as interns at REDRESS we have witnessed first-hand how REDRESS directly helps victims and witnesses, how devoted and passionate staff are and how gratefully acknowledged REDRESS’s work is at international conferences.

REDRESS works hard to bring perpetrators of grave international crimes to justice at the criminal level, as well as at the civil level through compensation. Without the work of REDRESS, victims and witnesses would be unable to bring cases against violators of human rights in the Rwandan genocide, in the Guatemalan Maya genocide as well as in many other atrocities. For those who are not wealthy enough to start legal proceedings and not poor enough for automatic support, REDRESS is thanked countless times at conferences and meetings by victims and witnesses from Rwanda, Argentina, Guatemala, Mauritania, the Former Yugoslavia and the DRC.

REDRESS has links with and supports the work of many medical and psychological support units for victims and witnesses at the ICC and ICTY.

We have created this JustGiving page because we need your help in raising £3, 600 for this hugely worthwhile charity. We express our huge gratitude for your donations in this good cause.

Many thanks,

Anne, Melissa and Natalie

Bonjour a tous,
